Abstract: Dan will discuss the importance of open-source security for the essential digital infrastructure we all rely on. He will explore initiatives by organizations like OpenSSF to enhance open-source security and explain how these efforts integrate with emerging regulatory frameworks, such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
About the Speaker
Daniel Appelquist is Open Source Strategist at Samsung Open Source Group. He is a web & mobile industry veteran and long-time participant and leader in open source and open standards. He has been co-chair of the W3C Technical Architecture Group for the last ten years. He also is a member of the OpenSSF's Technical Advisory Council and is a co-founder of Open Web Docs. He was an early web pioneer and "dot-com CTO." He's led efforts at Vodafone, Telefónica, Samsung, and the UK Government relating to Open Standards and the Open Web.
